Circuits used in electric vehicles, industrial motor drivers and frequency converters require the use of high-capacity resistors. At the same time, such devices should be as compact as possible. Due to this, designers and engineers usually choose components dedicated for those applications offered by professional, specialist manufacturers.
The LPR series of resistors by ARCOL has all the features mentioned above. These low-profile resistors are housed in an ultra-slim aluminium casing. They have been designed for applications in which space is a crucial factor – the height of the resistors is equal to 5.7 mm. What is more, the casing provides temperature control, as it dissipates heat. Additionally, owing to mounting slots in the casing, the resistors can be mounted in a way which ensures resistance to shock and vibration.
The LPR resistors come in 50 W and 100 W versions, with resistance of 3.3 Ω up to 1000 Ω, and are supplied with UL-approved leads. It is important to note that the products can withstand overloads of five times their rated power lasting for a short period of time (up to 5 seconds).
