This week, we would like to draw our customers attention to a toggle switch (mini joystick) from the assortment of American manufacturer C&K Switches.
The THB001P switch from C&K is a miniature toggle switch featuring a two-axis lever with an integrated button (activated when the lever is pressed down). It meets all the standards required by leading manufacturers of industrial controllers as well as game pads. Components like this are also used in drone controllers and PC peripheral accessories.
The THB001P switch is designed to operate on both DC and AC voltage (5 V DC and 50 V AC) – with a rated output of 0.05 A at 12 V DC. These parameters will successfully meet the requirements of most applications, as such elements are almost always operated by precision analogue-to-digital converters. The joystick features solder-to-board (THT) leads, and its operating temperature ranges from -10°C do +70°C. The manufacturer declares that the lifetime of the component is up to 2 000 000 operating cycles, which is a tremendous advantage, as in its most typical applications it must exhibit above-average durability, even under conditions of long-term operation. Another important feature of the C&K joystick is its compact size: the base of the component is a 17x21 mm rectangle.
The switch is compliant with global standards. The vertical and horizontal lever excursion is recorded by potentiometers, so the THB001P leads are resistive outputs. In other words: the product presented here is an analogue joystick. When the lever is pressed, the SPST-NO contacts of the integrated MICRO SWITCH are shorted.
In addition to the most typical applications, such as game and other controllers, the C&K switch can be used in heavy machinery, navigation devices, wheelchairs, medical and consumer equipment. Undoubtedly, the THB001P’s greatest strengths are tactile feedback and intuitive operation – the features that many users greatly appreciate, especially in the age of touchscreens and touch switches.
