D6 series of keypad switches from C&K

This week, we’d like to draw your attention to the D6 series of keypad switches from the portfolio of C&K, a renowned supplier of high-quality electromechanical components.

The D6 series includes both square and round switches, but in this text we focus solely on the round components, i.e. those designated as D6R. They feature one pair of normally open SPST contacts and are available only in a monostable version. Additionally, their leads are designed for THT (through-hole) mounting on a PCB.

This series of products is generally intended for DC circuits, mainly including interfaces and keypads. Their maximum switching power is 3VA (at up to 32V DC). Thanks to the membrane applied in each switch, contact closure is accompanied by a tactile and clearly audible ‘click’. Temperature resistance is an additional advantage of these products – they can operate at -20°C to 85°C.

Importantly, the switches are available in a number of colour variants: white, grey, black, red, yellow, green, and blue. The range also includes illuminated versions, with a key made of semi-transparent plastic, under which an LED diode (which is also available in several colours) is placed.

The D6 switches are used in keypads, electronic games, household appliance circuits, and industrial control panels. Additionally, it is important to note that they are compliant with the RoHS environmental directive.
