Recently, TME has added to its catalogue a few different variations of illuminated vandal-resistant switches. This time, the products come from a Swiss manufacturer EAO.
Our new products include switches from the 82 series with illumination in the shape of a chosen symbol. The switches are made of stainless steel as a round pushbutton with a flat front. They are designed for panel mounting in a 22 mm diameter cut-out. Their outputs are “solderable” leads, i.e. terminals to which wires can be permanently attached by soldering.
As is always the case with the Swiss manufacturer, the 82 series of switches boasts excellent manufacturing quality. What’s more, one of their most essential advantages is the availability of a wide variety of symbols. The products presented here are available with internationally recognised pictograms such as: power, stand-by, SOS or the letter “i” (meaning information). The LED illumination can have different colours (depending on the model): red, green, blue or white. The switches can also feature a two-colour, green-red diode.
The most popular applications of EAO vandal-resistant switches are public utility devices (lifts), food industry, heavy-duty and special vehicles, buses and coaches, railway as well as maritime transport and seaport applications. Owing to their lifespan (one million of mechanical cycles) and the high protection class (IP67 at the front), the switches can also be used in industrial installations and heavy machinery. They are typically applied in human-machine interfaces (HMI).
