Kingbright, a well-respected brand with a long-standing presence in the market, has launched the KPBA-2006 series of products, which includes dual-colour, side-looking LEDs housed in SMD packages (designed for surface mounting). These components offer a small size (0.65 x 0.65 x 0.25 mm) and are an attractive option, especially for designers seeking solutions to implement classic light indicators in mobile and compact devices.
A single SMD package accommodates two LED structures made of AlGaInP (a compound of aluminium, gallium, indium and phosphorus) or InGaN (indium gallium nitride), combined into a dual-colour light-emitting diode. Available in 4 colour combinations: green-yellow, red-yellow, red-green and red-blue, these LEDs boast low power consumption (20 mA) and a wide viewing angle (140°). Their leads are tin-plated, thanks to which they can be mounted on a PCB with ease. In addition, the LEDs are Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) compliant and therefore suitable for a wide range of professional applications.
The KPBA-2006 series has been designed with illumination and status indication applications in mind. Thanks to their typical performance and small size, these products will surely meet the requirements of a multitude of projects. Kingbright LEDs can be used in consumer appliances (including smart and IoT solutions), mobile devices, as well as in medical devices.
