Philips Fortimo LEDFlex LED Strips and Power Supplies

Philips lighting solutions have arrived in the TME catalog and warehouse. These include two related product groups: 24V LED strips and compatible AC/DC power supplies.

LED Strips

LED strips are a modern and versatile lighting solution that has gained immense popularity in recent years. Their flexible form and energy-efficient LED technology allow for the creation of impressive lighting arrangements in various spaces – industrial, commercial, and residential. The Philips Fortimo LEDFlex series offers bright, stable, and uniform lighting.

The strips are available in a wide range of color temperatures, from warm white (2700K) to cool shades (6500K). Combined with a high color rendering index (CRI > 80), they ensure natural color representation and easy adjustment of lighting to the desired mood and character of the interior. Another advantage of Philips solutions is high energy efficiency, often exceeding 100lm/W, with brightness ranging from 500lm/m to 2500lm/m, providing high luminance. Notably, the range includes COB technology strips (Chip on Board), where LED structures are placed close enough together to create a continuous line of light.

In terms of mechanical parameters, the strips are available in versions with different protection levels, IP20 or IP67 (full waterproof and dust resistance for outdoor applications) and can be cut in segments as short as 5cm or 10 cm (depending on the model). Additionally, Fortimo LEDFlex products have a lifespan exceeding 50,000 hours, reducing long-term maintenance costs. The offered strip widths are 8mm, 10mm, or 12mm.

All Fortimo LEDFlex items require a 24V DC power supply and are available in different power variants, from 3.5W/m to over 20W/m. An advantage of using Philips strips is that the brand also offers a wide range of power supplies compatible with the Fortimo LEDFlex system, ensuring optimal operating conditions and installation durability.

Thanks to their functionality and flexibility, LEDFlex strips are used in many applications, both typical (lighting residential, office, and industrial interiors) and in commercial spaces and architectural projects. Examples of these applications include:

• Accent lighting - highlighting architectural elements such as ceiling edges, stairs, shelves, and cornices.
• Decorative lighting - with different color temperatures, the strips can be used as ambient lighting in restaurants, hotels, and lounges.
• Commercial lighting - in stores and offices, LEDFlex strips can be used to create uniform lighting in display cases, shop windows, or workspaces, offering energy savings.
• Outdoor lighting – as selected LEDFlex strip models are moisture-protected, they can be successfully used outside buildings, e.g., to illuminate facades, gardens, and parking lots.

Power Supplies

Since every LED light source requires a stable and safe power supply, Philips offers a range of LED power supplies optimized for power consumption, various environmental conditions, and installation locations. For the above-described LED strips, the manufacturer recommends constant voltage power supplies (CV, Constant Voltage) with an output voltage of 24V DC. Philips power supplies are available in versions ranging from 20W to 300W.

Depending on external factors, as with LED strips, the power supply should be selected according to the protection class. Xitanium and Certa LED Transformer families are recommended for the LEDFLEX S series, as they are also IP67 rated. Other power supplies, such as LED Transformer and Power LED Driver, are ideal for indoor applications (offering IP20 protection).

For correct application performance, each power supply is equipped with overcurrent, overload, and short-circuit protections (SCP), which cut off the power in case of a short circuit at the unit’s output. This provides high installation safety and prevents failures caused by connection errors or unexpected events.
