This week we present you with S/FTP cables from LogiLink – a well-known supplier of computer accessories and related products.
These cables are available in 100 m and 200 m reels ‒ but apart from their packaging size, they are identical. They exhibit several important features that set them apart from the competition. First and foremost, they are B2ca rated in accordance with the CPR (Construction Products Regulation). This means that halogen-free substances have been used in their manufacture, and therefore the products can be widely applied in residential buildings, public utility buildings etc.
The cables contain 8 solid-wire cores made of oxygen-free copper (OFC) with a 23 AWG diameter (approx. 0.26 mm2). The conducted signals are protected against most electromagnetic interference thanks to double overall shielding consisting of tinned copper wire braid and aluminium foil protecting the conductor pairs (S/FTP stands for Shielded/Foiled Twisted Pair). The products have yellow LSZH insulation, i.e. an insulation that contains no halogens and is characterised by low smoke emission when exposed to flames.
The products are perfect for most typical applications in setting up consumer or office local area networks (LANs) ‒ and thanks to their good Cat 7A shielding they will also work well in telecom or industrial installations.
