20 W constant current mode LED drivers from Mean Well

The XLG-20 series of LED drivers is a meeting point of two highly popular product groups: drivers for modern lighting systems based on optoelectronic components and the range of Mean Well products. The brand is one of the most popular manufacturers of power sources in the TME catalogue – its assortment includes solutions intended for industrial applications, buildings, consumer electronics, modular devices and many more.

XLG-20 is an extension of Mean Well’s series of LED drivers with a high IP rating (IP67). The drivers can operate at 90 V to 350 V AC, thanks to which they can be utilised in countries using mains voltages that are lower than the European standard (230 V AC), such as the USA or Japan. The XLG-20 drivers offer a choice of three different output currents: 350 mA (L variants), 500 mA (M variants) and 700 mA (H variants). Their circuits are equipped with a number of different protection systems which improve the safety of use and reduce the risk of malfunction: OVP, SCP, OTP – i.e. overvoltage, short-circuit and overtemperature protection.

What is more, selected drivers are fitted with a dimming circuit. It can be controlled by applying voltage (0…10 V DC) via a 10 V PWM signal or resistance, i.e. using a potentiometer.

The Mean Well LED drivers presented here are enclosed in dustproof and watertight cases and can operate at a wide range of temperatures (from -40°C to 80°C). Thanks to these features, they can be used outdoors, e.g. in street, architectural, garden and industrial lighting. They reduce the costs of illuminating large spaces and make it easier to construct low-cost lighting systems in areas that do not have direct access to an electric switchboard (gates, gazebos, etc.).
