Unipolar transistors from Microchip

Although Microchip is mainly associated with PIC microcontrollers, the supplier’s portfolio also includes a wide range of other products. Following the acquisition of the Microsemi brand, Microchip began manufacturing silicon carbide technology components (SiC) and is continuously developing its manufacturing methods.

The SiC transistors manufactured by Microchip are available in the TME catalogue. These are unipolar components, fitted with an N-channel. Thanks to the use of silicon carbide, they exhibit improved performance and achieve higher operating temperatures compared to the standard silicon (Si) technology. They also boast lower power losses. This makes it possible to design devices of smaller size and low weight while at the same time reducing power conversion losses.

The TME catalogue includes discrete components operating with currents up to 99A and voltages up to 3.3kV and designed for surface mounting (SMD) or through-hole mounting (THT). You will also find modules equipped with screw terminals. The transistors can be used in all types of power supplies, railway industry, renewable energy conversion or industrial inverters, among others.
