D2FC SNAP ACTION microswitches by Omron

Omron has recently added the new D2FC series to its range of miniature SNAP ACTION microswitches. You can purchase these new products straight from TME’s stock.

The D2FC series comprises three microswitches: D2FC-7, D2FC-F-7N-20M and D2FC-F-7N-60M. They are a perfect example of mechanical components for applications requiring high durability, a clear ‘click’ sound, and tactile feedback to let the user know that the switch has been activated.

These three products differ when it comes to operating force (0.59 N or 1 N) and mechanical durability, which can go as high as up to 60 million cycles. They have a standard SPST-NO contact configuration and leads for PCB mounting (THT). In addition to their high durability, they are characterised by small body dimensions (12.8x5.8x6.5 mm).

The D2FC series microswitches are intended for various types of DC circuits, mainly including control and intermediate ones (DC contacts rating up to 1 mA at 6 V). They are often used in pointing and peripheral devices such as computer mice, joysticks, gaming controllers, remote controls, walkie-talkies etc. Switches with lower operating force can be applied in devices where responsiveness and high mechanical durability are of key importance. Those with higher operating force are mostly used in circuits where the user needs to feel a clear reaction to pressing the switch, e.g. through protective gloves, as is the case with industrial controllers.
