This week, we recommend Phoenix Contact switches that have recently been added to the TME product catalogue.
Ethernet switches are basic devices for data transmission via network protocols. They connect individual devices within a network and network segments. In contrast to routers, their functionality is limited to direct, local communication, which makes them practically irreplaceable in extended systems installed in, for example, industrial or office facilities. The Phoenix Contact products presented here are designed precisely for the development of such complex installations. They are suitable for handling transmissions between computers, PLCs, measuring instruments, IoT modules, and other components of automation systems for machinery, production processes or entire buildings.
The Phoenix Contact FL SWITCH is housed in a DIN rail-mounted enclosure (TH35) and comes with 5, 8 or 16 RJ45 ports. Selected models support gigabit (i.e. 1 Gbps) speed transmissions, while capabilities of other models are limited to 100 Mbps, which is, however, perfectly sufficient for data package exchange even in complex systems (e.g. for real-time production line monitoring). Similarly to all Phoenix Contact products, the distinguishing features of the switches presented in this text include high workmanship quality and reliability. Make sure to browse through the assortment and read detailed documentation included in our product catalogue.
