Powertip is a Taiwanese company specialising in the design and manufacture of small- and medium-sized TFT displays as well as monochromatic LCDs. Powertip modules are widely recognised for their high quality and reliability, thanks to which they are used in a number of different applications.
Powertip has just launched a new series of 7-inch 1024x600 TFT displays (with a viewing (active) area of approx. 154x85 mm). They boast a contrast ratio ranging between 600:1 and 800:1 – as a result, the displayed image remains legible in different conditions, even under bright light, e.g. in industrial halls, homes and public spaces.
The displays come in two variants: without a touchscreen or equipped with a capacitive touchscreen supporting the I2C or USB interface (depending on the model), thanks to which the user can choose the right solution for their project. The module is connected to the controller system via an FFC ribbon cable, which facilitates the mounting of displays in compact and low-profile devices. Communication with the display is conducted via the LVDS interface using ST5021 + ST5651 or EK73215 + EK79001 controllers.
Powertip puts great emphasis on the quality of their products. The presented displays can be successfully employed as stand-alone interfaces and used in a number of different applications, e.g. consumer electronics, home appliances, and even industrial machine control panels.
