The TME offer has been recently been expanded to include new versions of vandal-resistant switches from Swiss manufacturer EAO.
As befits a Swiss supplier, the 82 series of switches from EAO boasts excellent workmanship. Our catalogue now includes switches in two connection variants: a “plug-in” type with 2.8x0.5 mm connector leads (which can also be used for direct soldering) and an “M12 terminal” type – i.e. with a 5-pin M12 connector output. These switches, depending on the model, feature illumination in the shape of a ring or a selected symbol (e.g. power on or an "information" pictogram). Moreover, the LED illumination comes in many colours: red, green, yellow, blue and white. All products are suitable for panel mounting – once fixed (in a Ø22 mm diameter hole), their face exhibits an IP67 ingress protection rating.
The most popular applications for the switches supplied by EAO include food industry, heavy and specialist vehicles, buses and coaches, marine infrastructure and industrial installations. They perform well in these applications thanks to their excellent mechanical strength and resistance to environmental/weather factors (e.g. rain, humidity, dust). The components are also well suited to human-machine interface (HMI) requirements, and can be applied in ticketing machines, lifts and similar systems.
It is worth noting here that certain models in the 82 series offer two stable (operating) positions (i.e. they can be used for direct circuit switching) and are fitted with contacts that are capable of handling currents of up to 3 A at 240 V AC or DC. Other versions are designed for indirect control (max. 0.1 A at 35 V AC/DC). Nevertheless, irrespective of the version, the products boast a life span of 1,000,000 mechanical cycles and 50,000 electrical switching cycles.
