Sanyou SM series electromagnetic relays

Sanyou is a brand from China that focuses primarily on the production of relays. A wide of range of Sanyou products can be found in the TME offer, including their flagship product, i.e. miniature electromagnetic components (as well as power relays). Below, you can read about a small but very interesting part of the Sanyou offer: SM series of relays.

The SM products are worth your attention due to their great quality to price ratio and electric parameters. These relays are designed for through-hole (THT) mounting. Also, they boast high max. contact load (16 A at 250 V AC). The components are rather small, i.e. 29 mm x 12.7 mm x 15.7 mm. What’s more, there are two types of relays available, and they vary mainly in terms of coil voltage, which is either 12 V or 24 V DC. When it comes to the former type, the min. and max. coil voltage is, respectively, 9 V DC and 15.6 V DC, whereas for the latter variant it’s between 18 V DC and 31.2 V DC.

Thanks to all that Sanyou products can be used not only in their typical applications, but also in non-standard circuits or those that are subject to voltage fluctuations. In all versions, the coil power consumption is only 400 mW. The contact resistance in this product series amounts to 100 mΩ. Such excellent parameters have been achieved thanks to the use of bimetallic contacts made of silver oxide and tin (AgSnO₂) or a bimetal (silver and nickel, AgNi). These components can operate at a temperature ranging from -40°C to 85°C.

Such a compact size and the capability to control electric circuits quickly (even the ones connected directly to a power grid) make the SM series relays a perfect solution for many applications. Miniature Sanyou components can be applied in consumer electronics, electrical industry, automotive industry, telecommunications or even in medical equipment.
