ECK is a new series of relays supplied by TE Connectivity. It has been designed with high power applications in mind. The manufacturer offers three versions of these products, differing in the maximum switching current: 150 A, 200 A, 250 A (at a maximum voltage of 1 kV). In addition, each version of the relay comes in a variant equipped with a NO auxiliary contact (2 A, 30 V DC) and an economiser, so that only 1.7 W of power is required to sustain the tripping of the main contacts.
Thanks to their sealed housing and a wide operating temperature range (from -40°C to 85°C), the relays cover a wide range of applications. They can be used in electric vehicle chargers, electric forklift trucks, photovoltaic panel systems (solar inverters), as well as uninterruptible power supply systems. It is worth noting that the manufacturer estimates the mechanical life of the relays at 500,000 cycles, which means that they can operate in automation applications. The products comply with IEC60947 standards and are also UL (E82292), CE (724-00004) and CCC (2022960304002220) certified.
