USB sound cards from Vention

Vention is a brand that has been on the market since 2011. It specializes in producing audio-video and computer peripherals. In TME’s assortment, one can find, among other things, USB adapters, hubs and cables from this supplier.

This week, we recommend Vention sound cards to our customers. These are miniature devices that plug into a USB A socket. They come in 2 variants: as a chip integrated into the plug, or in a format where the module is placed on a short (15-centimeter) cable. The latter variant allows for optimal placement of audio connectors.

There are several situations in which a USB sound card proves to be a useful or even necessary solution. Most often, its use involves limited access to the interfaces of the device in use. Many of the current laptops or consoles do not have analog audio outputs, or offer them in a configuration that is not compatible with the user's preferred accessories. This is especially true of microphone jacks. Vention cards can have a separate input for this signal or automatically adjust to the connected headphones, switching between OMTP and CTIA standards. Among other things, these two competing standards distinguish accessories compatible with Apple and Samsung products. The difference is the order and function of the contacts of the 3.5mm jack connector used in headphones integrated with a microphone.

In the case of models with separate audio input, the user gains the possibility of connecting an independent microphone (an option that is now being abandoned by many electronics manufacturers).

Of course, all of the presented models also provide a stereo line output with standardized levels, protected by specialized filtering circuitry so as to ensure the highest possible signal quality.

Vention-brand sound cards are enclosed in aesthetically pleasing housings made from plastic or aluminum. The bodies are colored metallic, black, silver or gray.
